I started my career in restoration work while in high school, learning cabinet making. After school I went to work for a very high-end furniture manufacture and was offered a position in the cabinet shop or the finishing shop. I was quite proficient in my woodworking skills so I chose the finishing department as I had little knowledge of finishing. I started out as a sander and worked my way to head finisher in 2 years.

I starting my own business in 1970, the company was originally called A and M Refinishing (Antique and Modern). After hearing "What does A and M represent?" or "are you Mr. A or Mr. M" so many times, I changed our name to The Master's Touch with the slogan "Your Complete Furniture Service," conveying both the quality of our workmanship and the wide spectrum of services we now offer.

I sold the Fredericksburg, VA branch to long time friend and employee Tommy Asents and moved to Luther, OK in 2020. Tommy continues to operate the Virigina branch at the same location while I have now opened a new branch in Oklahoma. Our new locarion is also our new farm Our Wildflower Fields, where we raise goats, pigs, Chihuahua puppies, livestock guardian dogs, turkes, chickens, geese and more.
