I supervise all work done in my shop. I have a degree in Wood Finishing and had the good fortune to have studied under a Fellow of The Smithsonian Institute. I regularly attend the Smithsonian Institute's Antique Furniture Conservation courses.
I am a member of the American Institute for the Conservation of Historical and Artistic Works (AIC), and follow their guideline for the treatment of furniture. It doesn't matter if you have an 18th century object or a family heirloom. I treat each object as if it's priceless, because it is to you.

I'm Dick Patch, the proprietor of Astonish Antique Restoration. I believe that fine antiques should be treated with the care and deference that their venerable age deserves. My company will conserve, repair, or restore your piece in accordance with the guidelines of the AIC (American Institute for Conservation of Historic & Artistic Works). I conserve, repair, or restore artifacts, furniture, and interior architectural woodwork. I use techniques that will restore the beauty of the piece and enhance its value:
Integrity of the piece will not be violated.
Nothing non-original will be added to the piece.
Degraded finishes will be restored with the same finish material.
Glues and fastening techniques original to the period of the piece will be used.
Missing wood will be repaired with like wood from the same period, when possible.
