My formidable years out of high school where spent in the construction trades, where I developed my love of wood. Time spent Framing, Siding, Decks-Porches-Fences, and installing Interior/Exterior Trim Carpentry led to Cabinet and Custom Woodwork, and eventually a Full Service Remodeling business. Economic shifts perpetuated me to leave this trade for 5 years active service with the US Marine Corp, during which time I advanced my education and fell upon the opportunity of buying into my own Furniture Medic Franchise. Established as a part time business in 1995 while on Active Duty stationed in Jacksonville, Florida, I developed my passion for Furniture Restoration and Repair. Relocating back to my home turf of Marietta, Georgia in 1997, I took the business full time and by 2001 had a thriving Full Service Furniture Medic operation with a complete Strip and Refinishing Shop with 7 employees and 3 service vans. 9/11 sent a rumble through the economy and my operations had overgrown their ability to fund continuing operations at the convenient end of my Franchise contract. I downsized back into service as an independent contractor and leaned into the more focused study and practice of Antique Restoration and Repair, encompassing 2002 thru 2008. Currently, I am reinventing my business identity under the shingle of Southern Restorations and servicing all aspects of Fine Wood Restoration, Repair and Refinishing.

I am an independent Artisan of Wood Finishing, Restoration and Repair. With trade and affiliate contacts through out the Furniture Restoration Trade, I pride myself in having a vast variety of experience encompassing the last 14 years of service in this industry. Continuously self employed since the early 80's, I have the knowledge, experience and fortitude to accomplish your Restoration, Repair and Finishing needs on most any article made of wood.
